Kandy City Centre is a 10 storied commercial & shopping complex which is located in Kandy, Sri Lanka near the Temple of Tooth Relic. The construction started in 1993 and it was opened in 2005. The total project cost Rs.4.7 Billion. Under the management of Thusitha Wijayasena and the ownership of the PFIK, the complex is one of the most successful projects in Sri Lanka. == Construction == The land which this complex was proposed to built was occupied with several buildings such as cinema Halls and other store before cleared in 1993. The construction was abandoned in 1998 due to several reasons and was restarted after 4 years, 2003. The building was funded & designed by K.M.C. Architects of Singapore. This building is also known to be one of the first buildings in Sri Lanka to have an underground floor. This is also the only BOI approved project in Sri Lanka, which has been granted the Flagship Status.
